Prahar Vaidya, M.S.

Hello !!
I'm available for work.
To utilize my proven
cross-functional skills, hands-on experience and mechanical aptitude in all aspects of chemical engineering including process/ product development, making sure that standards of quality are met while production costs are kept as low as possible. I have the ability to use applied research and problem-solving skills for establishing the root cause of any chemical-related failure, as well as heading any investigations with the knowledge of manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Bio
From India “The Land of Growth” to America “The Land of Opportunity”
I am a recent graduate with Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Cleveland State University. Currently I am employed with S.S.White Technologies Inc., a Medical Device/ Aerospace parts manufacturing company, complied with ISO-9001, AS-9100 and FDA regulations. Being a Manufacturing Intern, I am supporting Product Development engineers in new projects and contract manufacturing products in accordance with customer requirements. My job function is to resolve various manufacturing non-conformances by Root Cause analysis, CAPA, prototyping and subsequent testing for performance by understanding product applications which usually carry lot of customer interactions and cross-functional duties.
Prior to getting my Master of Science degree, I also worked for the same company as Engineering Intern. Before coming to the United States for graduate degree, I worked with Nitrex Chemicals, a world’s leading manufacturer of industrial nitrocellulose, for a year. I also spent a year working in an Ammonia plant with GNFC, the company established with world’s largest single stream Ammonia and Urea complex and commercial production, for my senior design project. Doing the senior design project and working at the Nitrex Chemicals after finishing my undergraduate was a crucial and beneficial step for me because I learned the basics of unit operations and technologies happening in real life. It was great to be able to go on-site and observe something that I had imbibed from the books being personified before my eyes. Those years spent in the industry helped me decide what aspects of chemical engineering interested me the most.
I had realized by then that my undergraduate degree was not enough for what I wanted to pursue in the future. I wanted to help society by becoming a successful chemical engineer who is ideally equipped to meet strong environmental challenges, reduce the "environmental footprint" of industrial facilities as well as effectively managing the hazardous pollutants in airborne and waterborne waste streams.
Chemical engineers play a leading role in the design and implementation of effective technology-based solutions to control CO2 emissions with the use of cleaner-burning alternative energy sources such as Methane from Natural gas. Thus, I looked forward to working under the adviser who pioneered the adsorption based separation of Methane from Natural gas.
A wide array of engineers exists in my family, so it wasn’t much of a surprise to anyone that I chose to pursue a chemical engineering degree. Having lived with scientists and electrical engineers all my life, I found chemical engineering very challenging and fascinating because I grew up witnessing the boom of it in the state of Gujarat where almost 40% of all chemical industries in India is situated.
